Hull Geological Society
Roadshows
The Hull Geological Society usually holds a couple of Roadshows each year. At these meetings members of the Society will try to identify rocks, minerals and fossils that members of the public have brought along to show us. We do not give valuations though. Admission to the Roahshows is free, but donations towards Society funds are appreciated.
HGS members also display specimens from their collections and out publications may be on sale. At these events there may also displays from our friends in the Kingston Lapidary Society. In the past there have also been displays by Dinostar Museum, Hull Museum and Nature's Wonders (from Whitby).
We have held Roadshows at the Ferens Art Gallery in Hull, Flamborough Village Hall, Holy Trinity Church in Hull (now known as Hull Minster), Hornsea Museum, Hull and East Riding Museum, the Market House in Driffield, the Masonic Hall in Driffield (formerly the Mortimer Museum), Princes Avenue Methodist Church in Hull and the Treasure House in Beverley.
