Here are the Transactions of the Hull Geological Society in html format.
These have been scanned in from original printed format and then put through an OCR program by Mike Horne and Jan Christian Silva. The process may have introduced some new spelling errors to the texts. Some original misspellings have been corrected.
The original printed copies of Transactions that were scanned are in the University of Hull Library. Members of the Hull Geological Society can apply for a free of charge reader's ticket to use the Library.
Some of the pages and plates in the University's copy were in a fragile condition; these were not scanned to avoid damaging them. The Bibliographies of East Yorkshire Geology are not included in these webpages, nor the papers from the Proceedings of the Yorkshire Geological Society , The Naturalist and Hull Museum's Publications that are bound into those volumes. It is not clear whether these were issued to members of the HGS as the publication on Transactions declined.
Most of the pages in this new version have been reformatted to suit the Society's preferred format for publication.
Several of the papers refer to the "Hessle Till" which is no longer recognised as a valid lithostratigraphic unit.
The copyright belongs to the Hull Geological Society.
Permission is given for single copies to be printed for personal non-commercial use. Printing multiple copies or commercial of copies is prohibited unless permission of the Society is obtained. A copyright fee may be charged.
