War Graves

War Graves are maintained by the War Grave Commission. The headstones have a standard design and size. The family of the deceased could pay to have an extra inscription added such as a line of poetry or scripture.

Portland Stone War Grave

They were always made of Portland Stone, but now some replacement stones seem to be made of grey granites.
