Lecture meetings
- Winter lecture meetings
start at 7-30 p.m. and are held in the Department of Geography, University
of Hull (unless otherwise stated). Non-members are welcome to attend but please
arrive before the start of the meeting. If you arrive late the building may
be locked for security reasons and you will not be able to get in, particularly
if we are using the first floor lecture theatres. If we are in the ground
floor lecture theatre you can knock on the window and we will let you in.
Members' Evening

Club Night
- Club Nights are for members
of the Society and Hull University staff and students only and interested
members of the public. Unless otherwise stated meetings are held in the Geography
Dept, University of Hull, starting at 7-50 pm prompt. The doors to the building
will be locked at 7-55 pm and we may not be in the usual room, so do not arrive
late if you wish to attend! Please bring some specimens, photographs or books
about the evening's topic. The topic or topics for the following month will
be selected at the meeting.
Microscopy
Eevenings
- Microscopy evenings are
for members of the Society and Hull University staff and students only. Meetings
are held in the Geography Dept, University of Hull, starting at 7-50 pm prompt.
The doors to the building will be locked at 7-55 pm so do not arrive late
if you wish to attend! Please bring some samples or slides with you to look
at and share with others, as well as any equipment you need (such as picking
brush and tray for microfossils). You are welcome to bring your own microscope
and lamp too. Please contact the Secretary if you would like more information.
Field Meetings

or to book a place on any of our field meetings please contact the Secretary
(unless otherwise specified) - telephone 01482 346784 or e-mail "secretary
at hullgeolsoc.org.uk". If you would like a lift or can offer other members
a lift please let me know. Unless stated, booking is not essential, but it
does help the leader of the meeting organise the event if we have an idea
of the number of people who plan to attend.
- Please remember that
members and guests take part in our meetings or accept lifts at their own
risk. We try to share transport to and from our field meetings, so if you
can offer or would like a lift, please contact the Secretary in advance to
make the planning easier. If you accept a lift please offer to contribute
toward the cost of the fuel.
- The leaders of the meetings
reserve the right to ban people whose clothing or behaviour is inappropriate
for the safety of the group. If you are a qualified first aider and would
like to volunteer your help at Society meetings, please contact the Secretary
