Note all sites are best visited on a falling tide. For some the tide is critical either to view the site or to avoid getting stranded. You are recommended to wear a hard hat when examining cliffs.

Beach – pebble and sand

Hazards – groynes

Safety and PPE – sensible clothes. Sensible footwear.

Geological highlights – glacial erratics and occasional exposure of a peat bed

Other interests there or nearby – fish and chips, many cafes& c. in town. Hornsea Museum has a small geology display and concentrates on the history of Hornsea Pottery and life in the area (not open all year and there is a small charge). Hornsea Mere (large lake) and the Tesco Erratic. Café at Hornsea Mere and free parking and lots of geese.
