Note all sites are best visited on a falling tide. For some the tide is critical either to view the site or to avoid getting stranded. You are recommended to wear a hard hat when examining cliffs.

Conservation status – Sea defences are a RIGS for their educational value
Parking – free cliff top car park (slowly eroding) or on street
Facilities – public toilets (which will eventually fall into the sea)
Access – gentle ramp
Beach – sand and pebbles; occasionally clay
Hazards – unexploded ordnance
Escape routes - none
Safety and PPE – hard hat and sensible clothes. Sensible footwear.
Geological highlights – sea defences including pegmatites, augen gneiss and
folded gneiss. Till and glacial erratics. Study of coastal erosion.
