Dane’s Dyke “North” Quaternary
Peg -6 :- distance to Dane’s Dyke “south” section = 22.8m
Distance to centre of concrete drain pipe in
valley = 24m
Distance to nearest edge of brick drain
inspection box = 0.7m
Below are measurements from above and below a sagging
horizontal line. Generally the level of the varves was thought to be horizontal
and the beach mostly horizontal. At the top of each section there was slumped
till and soil often covered with grass and this was not measured. The pegs are
1m apart and numbered going “north”. Sections are listed top down for each peg.
