Mostly chalk but some small erratics of grey flint, yellow quartz, brown
sandstone and a hrad black angular rock too.
Ca 10 m up the cliff "Chalk boulders in the cliff has no fine matrix at all".
"North Side"
log revealed by recent slump
ca 5m from end of cliff - very wet.
25cm brown clay
>75cm sand coarsening upwards/
grassed for 80cm
80 cm solifluctate
Chalk marl band 3-4cm
> 50 cm Chalk
Largest clasts in the "solifluctate deposit" on this side of the Dyke
Long axes are horizontal usually. Measurements in cms
9 x 3; 5 x 2; 6x 2; 5 x 3; 6 x 1; 4 x 1; 4.5 x 6.
Note - not layered. These are more flattened and
angular than the ones on the "south side".
