Erratics in the Tills

In his comprehensive review of the East Yorkshire Glaciations John Catt lists the following erratics that can be found in the Tills.

Withernsea Till - Chalk, flint (undifferentiated), Carboniferous Limestone, Carboniferous shale, Carboniferous siltstone, Lower Jurassic limestone, Lower Jurassic shale, Lower Jurassic siltstone, Triassic limestone, Triassic shale, Triassic siltstone, metamorphic rocks, igneous rocks and Shap Granite.

Skipsea Till - Chalk, flint (undifferentiated), Carboniferous Limestone, porphyry, Larvikite, shale, Cheviot Porphyry, granite, Whin Sill, Magnesian Limestone, Jurassic limestone, Jurassic sandstone, greywacke, coal, metamorphic rocks and Artic shells.

Basement Till -  Chalk, flint (undifferentiated), Carboniferous Limestone, Artic shells, Jurassic sandstone, Jurassic shale, Magnesian Limestone, Carboniferous shale, Whin Sill, granite, basalt, gneiss, Larvikite and Norwegian Porphyry.

Older Drift - quartzite, chert, granite and rhyolite.
